A regular meeting of the Riverdale City Council will take place on Tuesday evening, March 9, 2021 at 7:00pm. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the meeting will be held virtually as a Zoom web conference.

If you just want to watch the meeting, you can do so by going to the Riverdale Residents Facebook Page. The stream to Facebook is delayed by a 10-20 second buffer, so comments you post in Facebook may not reach the Mayor or Council in time to be read and answered immediately. But they will be answered eventually.

If you need to address the Council or if you want to participate in an active discussion with the Mayor, Council, staff or another meeting participant, you’ll need to join the meeting directly from your computer, tablet or smart phone by clicking on the button, below, or this link.

Please Note: In accordance with Governor Reynolds’s disaster decree and under Section 21.8 of the Code of the State of Iowa, this meeting will be held online. To attend this meeting, please visit the City of Riverdale’s website (www.riverdaleiowa.com) for attendance instructions. Links to the meeting and instructions for participating/observing the meeting telephonically will be provided on the City’s website, posted for public notice and on all available social media channels.

The regular meeting of the City Council of Riverdale, Iowa will be conducted according to the following order and actions will be considered on the items listed. The notice of this meeting is not considered final until 24 hours prior to the meeting and may be further modified if 24 hours’ notice is impossible or impractical for good cause.

In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other applicable federal and state laws, all public hearings and meetings held or sponsored by the city of Riverdale, IA will be accessible to individuals with disabilities. Persons requiring auxiliary aids and services should contact City Hall at (563) 355-2511 five (5) days prior to the hearing or meeting to inform of their anticipated attendance.

The requirement that an Ordinance be read three times before passage may be waived by council upon an affirmative vote of four (4) of the five (5) council members. The public is advised to take note of this process and be prepared to speak either for or against any ordinance at the time of first reading.

Per Chapter 21 of the Iowa Code, more specifically described in sections 21.2 and 21.8, a member of the Council may attend the meeting either in person or by electronic means, as defined in said sections.
